About Me

I come from the Philippines and have now lived in Denmark (Aarhus) for 4 years.

I have a family reunification visa, which allows me to work.

I am studying at AMAOed University, Philippines. I study Computer Science and I am currently in my last year of education.

I am transitioning to this career to work in the technology and innovation industry and become a software engineer or work in a related field.

Experience (9+ years)

  • retail and sales (Bacolod, Philippines)
  • food and beverage (Dubai, UAE)
  • cultural exchange (Aarhus, Denmark, and Stavanger, Norway)
  • hotel and restaurant (Aarhus, Denmark)

Internship

Additionally, I worked as a data analyst intern at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany, where I applied machine learning to UK Biobank data on PM2.5 exposure and blood biomarkers. There, I used software tools like Python, NumPy, Matplotlib, Pandas, and SciPy. I’m excited to share our forthcoming article from this research.

Who I Am

I am a team player and a social person; I like meeting and working with different kinds of people.

I am hardworking, and I always try to do a good job no matter what I am working on.

I am an ambitious, curious, and proactive learner; I like to improve myself and am driven by big goals.

I like to learn new things, explore, and take initiative.

I am an adaptable and easygoing person.

I am passionate about building applications that could be useful for me and for everyone (see projects).

I like rapid prototyping, trying ideas fast, and learning by building. I use an AI assistant or LLMs for brainstorming and first-draft code, but I always own the result: I review, test, and refactor. Then I harden the prototype with tests, docs, and small iterations so it’s safe, maintainable, and ready to grow.

I’m currently a mentee in the Danish Data Science Academy (DDSA) Mentorship Programme 2025–2026, where I receive guidance from a professional mentor in Denmark’s data science community. The programme supports my growth in data-driven problem solving, research skills, and career development within data science.

Languages

I can communicate fluently in English and at an average level in Danish. I am also studying Danish in two classes at AOF and FVU to improve my language skills. I am excited to practice it at work.

Hobbies

TV series (Doctor Who, Two and a Half Men, Silicon Valley), long walks, a bit of shopping, game nights with friends and plenty of quality time with my family.
